C-Lance is the latest find by Enemy Soil’s CEO and Jedi Mind Tricks frontman Vinnie Paz. From Andover Massachusetts (about 25 minutes north of Boston) C-Lance is a newcomer, but definitely not a rookie. His name might not be littered across song production credits (yet) but his style, sound and sensibilities are about to put him in the upper echelon of beat-makers. Check the name: this 22-year-old prodigy is soon to be one of the most sought-after producers in hip hop. C-Lance is a self-styled producer who cites Premier, Dre, and Alchemist (among others) as primary influences without being a soulless replication of said influence. He is a student of the craft and in three short years has made his mark by teaming up with Doap Nixon on two tracks off the highly anticipated Grey Poupon record. His latest venture finds him teaming up with underground legend Vinnie Paz on Paz’s forthcoming solo album: The Assassin’s Creed. That collaboration came about after Paz heard C-Lance’s work with Doap Nixon. After hearing the songs crafted for Nixon, Paz immediately reached out to C-Lance and tapped him for his skillful construction. The result was four incendiary tracks that not only complement Paz’s rhyme but also serve as the perfect introduction to C-Lance’s sound. What he creates are straight murder beats; heavy, ill, dark tracks that jump up and grab the listener by the throat. For Assassin’s Creed C-Lance produced “Pistolvania” which features Freeway and Jakk Frost, “Kill ‘Em All” which features Beanie Sigel, “Brick Wall” featuring Ill Bill and Demoz and “Paul and Paz” which features Paul Wall and Block McCloud. Currently C-Lance is at work constructing the framework of the soon-to-be unleashed Heavy Metal Kings LP featuring a dream-team duo of two of the most respected MC’s in the independent rap game: Vinnie Paz and Ill Bill. He also has some heaters for Slaine of La Coka Nostra as well as upcoming projects with Outer Space. While C-Lance is just beginning to make his mark in the game it is obvious that his talent and his ear have given him both credibility and staying power. In 2010, C-Lance joined Enemy Soil as the first producer on the company’s artist management roster.
