I think Muggs (and probably The Alchemist too) produced an album that was due out after IV. He appears to have fallen out with the camp before that happened. I wasn't into Cypress at the time (I was 12!), but I'd guess this happened between IV being finished, and Tequila Sunrise being put out, as Ricks' is replaced by Sen in the radio version of the single. I've always thought that "Case Closed" was aimed at Ricks:
